The Department of Public Health’s State Office of Vital Records maintains all of Georgia’s birth and death certificates. It also holds marriage records from 1952 to 1996. Although the department can confirm divorces, copies of the records are held by the Clerk of the Superior Court in the county where the divorce was granted.
